Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, plus participation in an on call rota

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic individuals with good communication skills and a desire to deliver a high standard of service to our customers. Joining our established team reporting to our Area Manager Repairs, our External Works Operatives undertake maintenance and external repair works to our customers homes.   

 

What do our External Works Operatives do;  

 

Our External Works Operatives undertake a range of maintenance and repair jobs including rebed and precast concrete, stone or block paving, block edgings, concrete beds, steps and ramps. They identify and repair defects in paths, roads and walkways, repair fractures, patches and repoint of brickwork. Our External Works Operatives also clear guttering, install,  repair or renew timber fencing and gates and identify and repair underground drainage systems.     

 

What we are looking for;  

  • City and Guilds Craft or minimum NVQ level 2 in appropriate craft based trade or suitable relevant work experience.  

  • Experience of working collaboratively in a multi disciplined team  

  • Experience of delivering quality work on time  

  • A desire to deliver a high standard customer focussed service 

  • Ability to use PDA application in delivering appropriate job information  

  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the north west   

 

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, so your effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers will be key. You’ll be based in the communities we serve and will work under minimum supervision and as part of a team using a flexible approach.
