We are looking to recruit an experienced building surveyor to join our established team. Reporting to our Head of Building Defects and Disrepair our Senior Building Surveyor plays a pivotal role in leading and managing a team of building surveyors and building contracts. 

 

 

What will our Senior Building Surveyor do;  

  • Oversee the management of disrepair claims and ensure that MSV is in compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation. Work with other areas of the business to develop proactive initiatives aimed at reducing legal claims. 

  • Carry out surveys and inspections to determine the condition of existing buildings and identify and analyse defects, making proposals for remedial works. 

  • Prepare reports detailing findings in relation to buildings defects setting out proposals for remedial action in both reactive and proactive situations. 

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to the building surveyors and multi skilled operatives in the Building Defects Team. 

  • To provide effective leadership and to motivate team members to achieve high levels of performance and customer satisfaction. 

 

 

What we are looking for;  

  • Possession of a qualification such as BSc Hons Building Surveying/HNC Building Studies and or other recognised building or professional qualification  

  • Experience of effectively managing building contracts, monitoring and reporting on budgets, quality and performance. 

  • Experience in a management or senior/lead role in repairs related services 

  • Strong knowledge of building pathology and the ability to use this in practice  

  • Knowledge of current techniques for property repair and ability to follow developments and innovations in this field.  

  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the north west
